Filmmakers invited to ASEAN-China Workshop


The official launching ceremony of ASEAN-China Workshop on Cooperation for Cultural Production Capacity was held in Dec this year at ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), the workshop was sponsored by ASEAN-China Centre, Film Bureau of State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio Film, and Television of China, Zhejiang Bureau of Press, Publication, Radio, Film, and Television, and organized by ASEAN Finance Agency (Secretariat of ASEAN Film Week), Liushi Sub-District Office, Dongyang City, Dongyang Runzhe Cultural Industries Investment Co., Ltd.


In the opening of the workshop, Secretary-General of ASEAN-China Centre H.E. Mme. Yang Xiu Ping welcome all guests from all over ASEAN countries in her speech, followed by Deputy Director-General of Zhejiang Bureau of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television Mr. Wang Guofu.


2016 ASEAN-China workshop on cooperation is to commemorate the 25th year of good relationship between China and ASEAN, it’s also to welcome 2017 the 50th anniversary of ASEAN-China tourism cooperation, through the leadership of the government, involvement of the citizen and corporations, with our rich cultural resources, all parties express that they wish to further explore and enhance in professional cooperation and exchange. This workshop was held in Dongyang because of it’s rich film and tourism resources, as this workshop highly focus on film cooperation, with China’s sincere invitation, James Lee attended this seven days’ workshop with Malaysia Tourism officer Aaron Gan, writer/Producer Catherine Lee, Actress Marianne Tan, Actor Kenny Gan.


Aside from film cooperation, each film representatives also discussed on working together with each respective tourism board to create a tourism video that will be screen in the 2017 4th Silk Road International Film Festival which will happen with the 2nd ASEAN Film Week. In the Workshop Liushi Sub-District Office, Dongyang City, and Dongyang Runzhe Cultural Industries Investment Co.,Ltd. Signed a letter of intent with each film representatives from ASEAN.


The organizers express that through this workshop and platform, they hope to enable more opportunities to connect related organizations, enhance the development of our culture and ultimately each parties could benefit from it.
